Mental health and wellbeing.
An apprenticeship is a job and a course at the same time, and there will be weeks when it feels like too much. Support is there. Asking for it never affects your apprenticeship.

What you can ask for
- Time to talk. Your learner coordinator can meet you, in person or online, to talk through what is going on. You do not need a reason beyond "I am not doing great".
- Reasonable adjustments. If a health condition, disability or neurodivergence such as ADHD, dyslexia or autism affects your learning or your work, your provider must consider changes: extra time, a quieter space, recorded sessions, breaks, different formats, or a changed plan.
- Learning support. Extra one-to-one help with English, maths, study skills or organisation. Your provider can arrange this and it is funded, so it costs you nothing.
- A change to your plan. If things are hard for a while, your training plan can be adjusted, and in some cases a break in learning can be agreed so you can come back when you are ready.
- Help talking to your employer. Your coordinator can speak to your employer with you, or for you, about hours, workload or something that is happening at work.
How to ask
- Tell your tutor or learner coordinator, at any review or at any other time. You can send a message through Journey or ask for a call.
- If you would rather not say why, you can just ask for a meeting. If you want it kept private, say so and it will go no further than it needs to.
- You can use Raise a concern to directors on your learner home page if you would rather it went straight to the people who run your provider.
Asking for help never affects your apprenticeship. It is not recorded as a problem, it does not change your grades, and your employer is not told unless you want them to be, or unless someone's safety is at risk.

Looking after yourself along the way
Off-the-job hours exist so you have protected time to learn; use them, they are not optional extras. Keep your reviews honest: if you say things are fine when they are not, nobody can help. And if a colleague seems to be struggling, asking "are you all right?" is often all it takes.
