Delete your Journey account

Last updated: 6 October 2026 · Privacy policy

You can delete your Journey account at any time, in the app or by email. This page explains how, and what happens to your data when you do.

Delete your account in the app

In the Journey phone app, open Me and tap Delete my account. On the web, open Settings, go to Your account and choose Delete my account…, then type “delete my account” to confirm.

Deletion happens straight away. You are signed out and cannot sign in to Journey with that account again.

Delete your account without the app

If you cannot use the app, email privacy@journeyapp.co.uk with the subject “Delete my Journey account”. Send it from the email address you use to sign in, and tell us the name of your training provider or employer if you know it.

We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act. We will reply within one month, as UK data protection law requires, and tell you when your account has been deleted.

If your apprenticeship is still in progress

While you are on programme, Journey will not delete your account on its own. Your training provider still needs your record to support you and to meet apprenticeship funding rules, and you may still have documents to sign.

Ask your training provider to withdraw you and erase your record. If you email us instead, we will pass your request to your provider, because they are responsible for your apprenticeship record. Once you have finished or been withdrawn, you can delete your account yourself.

What is deleted

  • Your name and email address on your Journey account. They are replaced with “Deleted user” and a placeholder address.
  • Your access to every training provider workspace you belonged to.
  • Any calendar subscription links you set up.
  • Transcripts of review meetings you took part in.
  • Your link to your sign-in. If you also want the sign-in record held by our sign-in provider removed, say so in your email and we will remove it.

What is kept, and for how long

Your training provider is in charge of your apprenticeship record, not Journey. Deleting your Journey account does not delete the records your provider must keep, such as your apprenticeship and funding records, evidence, reviews and signed documents. Your provider keeps these for as long as apprenticeship funding rules and the law require. Ask your provider how long that is for your programme.

We also keep a record that the account was deleted, with no name or email, so that audit and safeguarding records stay complete. Copies of deleted data in our backups are removed as the backups expire, within 35 days.

Questions and complaints

Email privacy@journeyapp.co.uk with any question about deleting your account or your data. Journey is operated by Tech Geek UK Ltd. Our privacy policy explains your other rights. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
